History of paint development

- Jul 14, 2019-

Paint is a coating made of materials such as iron oxide or resin to decorate and protect articles. The origin of the paint is still inconclusive. In 6000 BC, China has improved the paint by mixing and roasting inorganic compounds and organic pigments. In 1500 BC, in the caves of France and Spain, paint was used for painting and decoration. In 1500 BC, Egyptians used dyes such as indigo and valerian to make blue and red pigments, but the paint was still not perfect. In the 18th century, the development of the linseed oil and zinc oxide made the paint industry develop rapidly. In the 20th century, the paint process has undergone significant development. Paints and paints of various colors with higher adhesion, higher gloss, flame retardancy, corrosion resistance and high thermal stability have mostly used vegetable oil as the main raw material. "Paint", such as healthy and environmentally friendly raw tung oil. Whether it is a traditional coating material that uses natural materials as a raw material, or a coating product that uses synthetic chemical products as a raw material in modern development, it belongs to organic chemical polymer materials, and the formed coating film belongs to a polymer compound type. According to the classification of modern chemical products, coatings are fine chemical products. Modern coatings are gradually becoming a class of versatile engineering materials and an important industry in the chemical industry.
