Installation and debugging steps of fire door closers

The fire-proof door closer is one of the indispensable parts of the fire rated door. It is a key part of the closing operation of the fireproof door body. Its main purpose is to promote the automatic closing of the fire door.


When installing the fire door closer, in order to achieve a certain closing effect of the fire door body, a series of debugging work is also required.


The fire door closer is a spring-like hydraulic device on the head of the fire door. When the fire door is opened, it can be compressed and released to let the fire door close automatically. Its operation is similar to a spring door and is mainly used to ensure fire protection. After the door is opened, it closes to the initial position accurately and in time. Generally speaking, the opening and closing of the fire door closer is counted as one operation, the opening angle of the door leaf can reach 70 degrees, and the opening and closing speed is 4-6 seconds.


According to the fire door installation experience of Dalian Golden House Door and Window Manufacturing Company for many years, the debugging of the fire door closer is divided into the following steps:


      1. Install the main boom

      Install the main arm of the door closer to the upper side of the fire door frame and door leaf, and pay attention to placing the adjusting screw against the hinge side. When installing, all the screws must be tightened, all up to the bottom, and there should be no looseness.

      2. Adjust the angle

      After installing the main arm of the door closer, the main arm and the fire door leaf should be kept at 90 degrees. If the angle of the main arm does not reach 90 degrees or exceeds 90 degrees, the angle between the main arm and the door leaf needs to be adjusted by adjusting the length of the attached arm.

      3. Adjust the upper left screw on the side

      Adjust the upper left screw on the side of the door closer, and follow the principle of "open the upper screw on the left, clockwise, the door closing speed becomes slower, counterclockwise, the speed becomes faster". Note that the adjusting screw is 1mm higher than the door closer. If it exceeds 1mm, the door closer will leak oil and be scrapped.

      4. Adjust the lower left screw on the side

      Adjust the lower left screw on the side of the door closer, follow the principle of "open the lower screw on the left, clockwise, the deduction speed becomes slower, counterclockwise, the speed becomes faster". Note that the adjusting screw is 1mm higher than the door closer. If it exceeds 1mm, the door closer will leak oil and be scrapped.

      5. Buffer locking

      When the door leaf of the fire door is closed to about 20 cm from the door frame, the buffer lock is locked. This step cannot be omitted. It is important to know that if there is no buffer lock, it is easy to damage the hardware and door leaf of the fire door.

      After completing the above steps, the debugging of the fire door closer is completed. Although the door closer may seem inconspicuous, its function is not small, and the installation and debugging work must be carried out seriously.
